Set to lead the charge as one of Australia's most exciting musical exports, bAnoffee is the impressive new solo project of Melbourne based singer and producer Martha Brown (Otouto, Dreamy and Delicious). Seemingly as minimal and raw as her previous projects, bAnoffe’s recipe of new wave R’n’B, meshed with gliding synths, syncopated beats and textured, effected vocals make for nothing less than a musical staple with newfound attitude.
With a fresh, nonchalant and non-committal attitude to any one musical style, the bAnoffee title is also the result of Brown’s complete submission to every part of her music until utter satiation. If self indulgence in one’s art was ever a negative thing, the creation of the bAnoffee moniker acts as a metaphorical shield against any such consequences of her music – be it her lyrics about love turned sour, or statements of empowerment lacquered in polite profanities – “I’m a fucking ninja now, I won’t let you bring me down”.
The upcoming debut EP of five, honeyed tracks including leading singles ‘Ninja’ and ‘Reign Down’, co-produced by long term collaborator Oscar Key Sung (Two Bright Lakes), not only touches on themes of fighting inner turmoil and finding strength in self throughout, but is an expansion of her craft as she feels her way through the production process of the EP to completion.
Coming from similar tastes and a youth of touring together, Key Sung and bAnoffee’s contrasting musical histories of folk and 90s’ urban soul such as Joni Mitchell and Erykah Badu, blend together to create a brand new sound that’s quickly becoming a signature. Heavy, layered synths, bouncing keys and deep, resounding bass in tracks ‘Ohhh Owww and ‘I Got It’, are at times a battle of genres – smooth like caramel old school R’n’B, perfectly balanced with quirky, synth pop of the ‘80s and early millennium (think Paul Simon meets Lauryn Hill), while delicate vocals bring the fierce lyrics so that every one of bAnoffee’s songs become a vessel of empowerment for not only herself, but also the listener.
An EP intent on being a metaphorical point of strength, each track comes accompanied by videos from like-minded local filmmakers and artists that share the common goal. Like her real-life foray into the art of kickboxing suggests that she is on a mission to be the strongest she can be without armor, bAnoffee is not only succeeding in kicking ass, but completely owning it along the way.
A trio with musical influences that extend far beyond their hometown of Nashville, Tennessee, BASECAMP came to fruition when the three producers joined forces to write. Quickly realizing there was a strong chemistry between them, the idea ofBASECAMP immediately took hold. Deconstructing typical genre boundaries by utilizing haunting melodies, intensified by thumping bass lines and heavily percussive drums, BASECAMP effortlessly layer unpredictable tempo changes with elements of subtle glitch and organic strings. Releasing their standout debut EP in late 2013, tracks like "Emmanuel" and "Smoke Filled Lungs" instantly stole the attention of audiences and fellow artists alike, through the EP's sophisticated combination of seductive vocals and irresistible R&B timbre. With the release of their highly anticipated follow-up, 'Greater Than', out now via Owsla, the trio continue to mesh seemingly incongruous musical textures to create beautiful tension.
More introspective than the last EP, the result is a record full of dark, brooding tones, heartfelt melodies and body shuddering bass echoed with sweeping cellos and inflections of ghostly guitars that expertly mirror the real-life experiences of their creators. Universally relatable with burning lyrics and a fully realized musicianship that can't be faltered, this promises to be an exciting new chapter of the eclectic BASECAMP narrative.
Solo artist and songwriter Ben Browning has been a long time member of the band Cut Copy and is set to release his debut LP in 2015. His own work is electronic and draws melodically from heroes Brian Wilson and Paul McCartney. His latest work is a FM synthesis of colorful influences including early techno pioneers YMO and current Scandinavian artists Lindstrøm and Todd Terje. Browning took a live show to the USA in 2012 has also been seen DJing alongside current disco acts like Holy Ghost! and the Jaun MacLean.
Keeping true to his moniker, London based Swede Johan Blende uses robotic synths to seamlessly integrate disco, funk
and electronic vibes - all with a rock 'n' roll edge, creating his own style of music sometimes referred to as Neo Boogie.
Since Blende’s inception he has caught the attention of the indie rock & modern disco music scene as well as major
labels alike. With an ever increasing presence in the industry, burgeoning fan base and substantial support from industry
leaders, Blende has done remix work for the likes of Lana Del Rey, Two Door Cinema Club, Klaxons and Skrillex.
Continuing the success of last year’s single “Rikki”, Blende has furthered his mission to create classic pop music with a modern twist - a sound exciting for the masses whilst being alluring and true to its more obscure roots. It's truly timeless music that is not following any trends, but rather made simply to be enjoyed.
Dynamic and diverse are perhaps the best words to define the Suffolk, Virginia based hip-hop group, Breezepark. Since meeting through rival high schools, the group has been striving to build their platform as a dominant name in the music community while reinforcing the importance of positivity, self empowerment, determination, and truth through their art.

It may have been a long time coming for some, but Australia's favourite psychedelic-dance adventurers, Miami Horror, are set to return this Summer with a whole new swag of delights. The past few years have seen the group release their highly anticipated debut, Illumination, to heady acclaim, as well as relocate to the US after lengthy tours of both their home country and abroad. Settling in crazy Los Angeles, the four-piece quickly found inspiration in the glowing year-round Californian sun, set up a home studio, and eagerly started experimenting with new sounds and projects to ease their creative itch. Proving that time is of importance, the band, anchored by producer Benjamin Plant, have spent the last year crafting and perfecting new material glittered with dream-gazey synth and matured song writing to deliver a new chapter in the band's evolution. Keeping busy juggling time between international DJ sets and side projects of Wunder Wunder (Benjamin Plant and Aaron Shanahan) and Good Night Keaton (Aaron Shanahan), the group cleared their heads and re-focused on the Miami Horror sound to produce their most realised work to date. After writing in both in Australia and the US, the new singles are ready and the the sophomore album is slated for a release towards the very end of this year.

Wunder Wunder is the creative conception of Australian music producers, Aaron Shanahan and Benjamin Plant. After many years producing and writing electronic music, the duo have given birth to a new project that adventures into their love of colourful psychedelic '60s and '70s pop.
Having spent the last two years relocated in Los Angeles, an overflow of inspiration left them with a combination of everything from soft, blissed-out dreamscapes to the hot Californian sun burn's that will be felt with their first single 'Coastline'.
With an amalgamation of lo-fi squelch, dreamy guitars and warping synths, Wunder Wunder is a true aural trip into the west coast sun. Through a kaleidoscope of melodies, they provide the sonic colour and boldness that most music seems to forget.
Their first single Coastline will be released in November through New York based label, Dovecote Records.
